Sponsor Spotlight - Ashley from Married to the Game

Monday, February 17, 2014

Today, I am super excited to introduce you to my wonderful sponsor Ashley from Married to the Game. This girl is awesome and her blog is a must read! I am jealous of all the traveling she gets to do, but we also have so much in common - most importantly, our love of hockey!

Check her out:

What made you want to start a blog?
I wanted a place to document the crazy journey that my fiance, Kory, and I are on with his hockey career. We are constantly traveling around, so it's a great way to share what we are doing with with all of our friends, family, and his fans. I also wanted something that I could work hard at and call my own since I can't have my own career with all of the moving around that we do.

What is your favorite thing about blogging?
I love the blogging community. I'm new to the blogging world, but I've already met so many great people that I can connect with! I get so much motivation through reading other blogs as well :)

What are 3 of your favorite posts that you've written on your blog?

What is your favorite place that you have traveled to?
Toronto! I didn't think that I would be a huge fan of living in the city, but Toronto took us by surprise. We fell in love with it and I would love to go back.

You are getting married soon! What is your best piece of advice for others planning their wedding?
Definitely keep a wedding binder so that you can keep everything really organized. Planning can be overwhelming because there are so many details that have to be worked out, but it helps to follow one of those wedding planning timelines to make sure that you are on track. I've had some breakdowns when it comes to planning, especially when I kind of forgot about wedding planning for two months (you can read about that here: http://www.married-to-the-game.com/2014/01/what-was-i-thinking.html). I know that it can be very stressful, but the most important thing to remember is that you will only be planning your wedding once and it will be over befor you know it so you have to relax, take deep breaths, and enjoy the process!

Where do you hope to see yourself in 5 or 10 years?
I have no idea what the future holds for us and we can never plan ahead for anything, but I hope that we are more settled down somewhere. Who knows whether that "somewhere" will be in Canada or the States, but I'll be happy wherever we end up. I hope to be a mom too!
