October Goals Recap + November Goals

Friday, November 1, 2013

It definitely feels like November around these parts, weather wise, at least. But it is still so hard to believe it is November.

Before we dive right into November, let's see how I did on my October goals. It was my first time actually making and recording goals, so they weren't too complicated at the time, but, things happen and goals change.

#1. Eat more fruits and vegetables.
I didn't do too well at this. My diet is still horrible and something that I am struggling to improve it on a day to day basis. Any one have any tips to share?

#2. Photograph and list all my currently made pieces in my shop.
Photograph, yes -- but I only have about half listed. This is still a work in progress, but all the photographs are ready to go which was an entire 2 days when I had some good light to work with.

#3. Fix our squirrel problem.
As I mentioned here, this has been fixed! Our corner of the front porch where they were going in has been fixed and they can't get in there any longer. There is still some major porch work that needs to be done, but it's good to go until at least Spring time.

#4. Revamp my Sponsor Options.
I did do this. I now have 3 paid ad sizes and of course my medium sponsor swaps. Some ad spaces will now include automatic entry into a monthly group giveaway!

#5. Make 5 recipes that I've been storing to try on Pinterest.
5? No. I accomplished one, and it turned out terribly. I am still determined to make this goal on a monthly basis though, because as much as I dislike cooking I LOVE to bake. Desserts all the way!

Here are a few important days coming up in the month of November:

November 8th - One year ago on this date my father passed away as I held his hand. I cannot believe it has been an entire year without him. I try not to think about it too much because it just hurts - and this day will be no exception.

November 13th - My husband's birthday! For his birthday, I gave him a 3 pack of Ottawa Senators tickets. The first game is on November 15th and he is going down to see the game with his Dad. We haven't been apart for more then 24 hours since we have been together, so that night might be a challenge for me, but I'm sure it will be a relaxing evening for me.

Now, what are my goals for November?
I thought a lot about this and I am going to do my very best this month to accomplish them. For October, I would rate myself a 2.5/5 score on what I did and did not accomplish. November will be different!

#1. Have all my Christmas shopping done by the end of November.
I am sick and tired of rushing around the week before Christmas to purchase an outstanding gift for someone. I plan on doing most of my shopping online this year anyway, since I hate to shop, and because of shipping times to Canada it better be done by the end of November regardless but we will see!

#2. Learn how to use the snowblower.
I attempted this before, when I was about 16 and I didn't even have enough strength to push the darn thing. This year, I want to learn how to actually use it - it might not be easy, but I like to know that I could do things on my own if need be.

#3. Read 2 new books.
I would really like to get back into reading. I used to love to read but find it hard to find any spare time anymore. I would like to read 5 this month, but let's try to make this absolutely do-able with 2.

#4. Revamp my Facebook page.
Let's face it, I suck at updating my Facebook page. I have definitely let it slide and my likes are decreasing, which is no wonder why. I would really like to rebrand it and update on a steady basis this month.

#5. Organize my clothes.
We only moved in 2 months ago and already my clothes are all over the place and not in any type of order or organization which drives me crazy when I am rushing around in the morning trying to find something to wear to work. I would always like to go through my clothes again and donate whatever no longer fits (should have done more of this before we moved, but oh well!)

  3. Good luck! Your November goals sound great! Did you know that your Facebook page will let you pre-schedule posts with the little clock icon? Whenever I finish a post, I head on over and type up what I want to go live on Facebook and then pre-schedule it so it's ready when my post goes up. I still interact with people on my page if there's something to interact with, but this way I'm not just straight up forgetting. Maybe that will help you?
