30 Before 30

It's a little hard for me to imagine doing a 30 before 30 list, probably since I am still I.D.'d when buying lottery tickets (legal gambling age here is 18!) but it's time. I will be 28 in a little over 7 months and I enjoy making lists. Although, I had no idea how hard it would actually be to come up with 30 things that I wanted to do in the next 2 years and 7 months, that I would have a shot at completing, but here is the final list:

  1. Travel to the East and West coasts of Canada. I have always wanted to visit British Columbia, Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. They are at my top to do list and it needs to be accomplished before my 30th birthday.
  2. Have a pedicure, at a salon. I have majorly ticklish feet and can't have anyone touch my feet. This one may be a bit of a challenge, but it's something I have always wanted to do.
  3. Make and send out Christmas cards. Something I have always wanted to do, and now that we are married, it makes more sense to accomplish this task.
  4. Learn to swim. My biggest regret as a child is refusing to take the swimming lessons that my brother's did. I am paying for it now and would LOVE to learn how to actually swim, and not just do the dog paddle until I'm tired.
  5. Conquer my phobia of frogs. This could be a tough one!
  6. Fly on an airplane. This is somewhat of a fear, too, and something that needs to be done soon. I've always wanted to experience flying on a plane.
  7. Take a train, somewhere. Another one that should be done soon - we have a via train station not too far from our house. One day the husband and I need to just go down there and buy a ticket to somewhere.
  8. Read 100 books and keep track. I used to read so much, but have found it hard to make the time nowadays. I really need to set time aside to catch up on some awesome books on my 'to read' list. And if anyone has any suggestions, I am all ears!
  9. Try to eat any type of seafood. Seafood has always made me squeamish, but I would love to be able to say that I've tried lobster, just once.
  10. Take a woodworking class.
  11. Organize my extensive DVD collection.
  12. Go back to the African Lion Safari in Hamilton, Ontario. This place is amazing and we've already been there twice - we need to make a point to go next summer. We really want to take my in-law's there as well since they have never been and we think they'd really enjoy it.
  13. Bake a homemade pie. I love to bake, but I've never actually baked a pie. I usually stick with cookies, cakes, squares, etc.. so this will be a nice challenge.
  14. Try out dry shampoo.
  15. Do an anniversary photoshoot (and convince my husband!)
  16. Perfect my mom's brownie recipe.
  17. Hold a baby. Yes, I have never held a baby.. for some reason they frighten me. They are so small and fragile looking, and I'm always afraid that said baby would just start wailing as soon as I held them, which would make me feel bad.. I will have another nephew here soon enough so I may be able to cross this off the list!
  18. Start an actual fitness routine and stick with it.
  19. Go to a concert. Any concert will do. I think the last concert I went to was NSYNC, or the Backstreet Boys. Either way, I was like 12 and that is just unacceptable.
  20. Complete 1 DIY project from Pinterest a month. So many pinterest projects just sitting there waiting for me to do, this task should be fun - if I stick with it!
  21. Attend a blogger conference.
  22. Buy (and wear) a pair of brightly coloured pants.
  23. Sort and organize all my old photographs that are just stored on external hard drives.
  24. Take a photography class.
  25. Adopt a dog from the local shelter.
  26. Get a passport. I haven't travelled across the border since it was a requirement to have a passport, and because of that I just haven't gotten mine yet, and I really should.
  27. Learn (or attempt to learn) how to crochet.
  28. Go horseback riding.
  29. Organize and make each room in our home 'ours'.
  30. Do something awesome for my 30th birthday!

I plan on updating this list and crossing things off as they are completed.
