A New Me... Minus 7 Inches of Hair!

Monday, August 19, 2013

I did it.. I was so excited about making a change, but a little nervous too. I worn my hair the same way every day (except our wedding day) since I was 3 years old. I never changed it, only trimmed an inch off every now and then, and it was always super long. The colour has changed many times over the years but not my cut or style.

Sorry for the crappy pictures, but here is the new me, minus 7 inches of hair:

It feels amazing and my hair feels like it has so much more life and body to it already! My stylist is fantastic and did a fabulous job, I couldn't be any happier with the change.

  1. You look great! I definitely need to make a drastic change with my hair but I'm too chicken! ;)

    1. Thank you! :) I've been wanting to do it for so long, but I kept chickening out too.. I would use excuses, like 'oh, I don't want to make a drastic change before our wedding! .. or before my boudoir shoot! .. etc, etc'

Very happy I took the plunge though!

  2. New follower here, and I don't know how I ended up on your blog, but I LOVE your hair! I just got mine cut this weekend, and I was going for that wavy look that you have accomplished. How did you do it? What product did you use?

I used Healthy Sexy Hair Beach Spray that I received in last month's Ipsy bag, but then I messed it up with hairspray and it made it all crunchy.

    1. Thank you! Following you back!

My hair was always naturally stick straight, but as soon as the 7 inches was cut off, my hair seemed to have a natural wave to it, which helped. I also make sure to use a diffuser to bring out the wave a little bit, plus I'm using the Sexy Hair Beach Spray from my Ipsy bag too! I've also found that Redken Curvaceous Wind Up Spray works well too!

    2. Well, it looks gorgeous!
And thanks for the tip on the Redken Curvaceous Wind Up Spray. I have straight hair but I wanted it to be all wavy and cute, so maybe this will help!

  3. Looks great! I'm way to afraid to cut my curly hair short in case I somehow end up looking like a clown! Ha!
