Post Wedding Photoshoot: Part 1

Tuesday, June 25, 2013

Our pictures are in from our post wedding photoshoot and I couldn't be more excited or happy with them! The weather and sunshine was truly perfect, and we had a blast doing these! (Well, I did.. Barry was upset that he had to miss a hockey game, but I think it was worth it for some of these shots!)

We will have to do this in parts, I love too many pictures to narrow it down anymore -- so part 2 and possibly 3 coming soon!

Sunday Social: Shopping

Sunday, June 23, 2013

1. What is your favorite store to shop at?
I LOVE shopping online, which can be difficult for Canadians, but I still find that you get more selection then what we have around stores here. My favourite places are ModCloth, Aeropostale, Forever21, Old Navy and I of course, love purchasing clothing and accessories from handmade designers on Etsy.

2. If you could afford anything and everything, which designer brand would you covet?
Kate Spade. I just can't justify it right now!

3. What is your must have closet staple?
Skinny jeans and tunics.

4. What is your favorite kind of shoes? (brand or type)
In the winter, high leather boots and in the summer, sandals or flats.

5. What is the best clothing deal you've ever gotten? (sale or amazing find)
I am definitely a bargain shopper -- Last weekend I stopped at Old Navy and they had such an awesome sale on that I ended up with 4 tank tops, 2 t-shirts, 2 pairs of jeans, and 1 pair of jean shorts for about $70.

6. What is a style you'd love to try?
I am so out of touch with what's 'in style' or 'fashionable'. I'm very much into comfy casual looks -- so I would LOVE to figure out how to, one day, come out of my comfort zone and try something entirely new.

Life Lately

Friday, June 21, 2013

Why does it seem like I only blog on Fridays and weekends anymore? I really need to start scheduling my posts throughout the week - I never find time to write Monday-Friday due to work. I'm still getting used to working those hours and by the time I get home in the evening and make supper, I'm pretty much done. Hoping that changes soon enough and my body will be readjusted. Still, scheduling posts is now on my to do list!

So, Life lately.. What have we been up to?

Well, today was a big day for 2 reasons...

1) I finally passed my G license test. YES, finally. Canada has graduated licensing and I've been redoing my G2 road test every 5 years so as to not lose my license. I went once for the G road test and failed horribly.. the tester actually had me in tears. Now, that was 4 years ago and I've changed a lot since then.. I'm still a nervous driver, don't drive very often and HATE to drive.. but I was determined to get this done. For one, my insurance would lower dramatically (which I am definitely looking forward to now) and two, now that I have passed, I will not have to take another road test until I am considered old age. You have no idea how happy I am to have passed - one less worry that I have to have. Road tests always made me nervous and anxious, which would definitely result in a fail, but I DID IT!

2) We put an offer in on the house we saw last week. At first, we decided against moving forward with a house purchase right now and decided to work on our credit and build up more of a downpayment. However, neither one of us could forget that house. It is perfect for us. Beautiful hardwood floors, beautiful back deck with large fenced in yard, excellent kitchen, 3 bedrooms, garage, decent neighborhood. It was PERFECT! After some recalculating and realizing that no matter our savings will be gone, we decided to take the plunge. The house is over budget, so there is a definite possibility that we won't get it -- but just to have put an offer in is amazing! I'm hopeful, but being realistic -- it may be the perfect house, but not the perfect price. We will have to wait and see..

Also, I came home to see our photographer from our post wedding shoot has posted 2 more photos, so I'll share them here! I really can't wait to see the rest!

Sunday Social

1. What is your biggest driving pet peeve?
People who refuse to use their signal light. It is there for a reason! I especially love it when I see drivers not use their signal light while following behind and noticing that they have a nice dent in the back end of their car. Hmm, I wonder how that could have happened?

2. What is your biggest blogging pet peeve?
I may be new to the blogging world again, so I really can't think of anything. Ask me again in 6 months and I'm sure I will have a better answer for this! :)

3. What is your biggest general pet peeve?
Spelling and grammar. I'm not perfect, but easy and obvious spelling and grammar mistakes make me want to bang my head against a wall! Oh, and this ties into this -- but let's not forget chat speak. My text messages always span over 2 or 3 messages long due to the fact that I cannot use much chat speak or short form, it pains me to do so. I'm sure this might annoy other people who are receiving my 2-3 text messages in one, but oh well.

4. What is your most irrational fear?
Frogs. I am absolutely terrified of any kind of frog. It's not all reptiles - I don't mind snakes; they aren't my favourite animal, by all means, but frogs? Ugh. Just looking at them on TV makes me cringe. Just looking at this image has me in freakout panic mode, (already removed and replaced with a somewhat less threatening image of a frog cartoon!) which I know is ridiculous because frogs do not harm people, but the fear is still there and always has been.

I think this fear initially started when I was around 5 or so years old. We always had what I call sticky toads at our home out in the country, and one day I opened the front door to go inside and a sticky toad must have been on top of the door frame - because when I opened it, he landed right in my hair. I freaked, jumped around and he would not get out of my hair! It was horrible. So, that's the first memory I can recall regarding this strange fear.

5. Name 3 celebrities you'd want to have dinner with.
Ian Somerhalder, Jennifer Aniston and... Sophia Bush.
